Carpets & Rugs
Carpeting:

There are two basic elements of carpet that are the determining factors of its overall cost, longevity and aesthetics: fiber and construction. In most cases, carpet is made from four types of fiber: natural, wool, polyester, nylon or olefin. The construction of carpet can have many appearances: cut loop, level loop, multi-level loop, plush, texture, saxony and frieze. Carpet provides a soft and cozy surface that can be installed wall-to-wall or as an area rug with price ranges to meet anyone's budget.

Area Rugs
The classic combination of area rugs over ceramic tile, stone, hardwood, laminate, or even carpet, is ageless. Create and island of intricate patterns or bold contemporary designs within the luxurious pile of a plush area rug and add another dimension to the look of any room. Area rugs are forever and may be conveniently moved from room to room.

Cleaning
The advent of carpet fiber stain technology brought about a revolution in color possibilities. Homeowners, no longer fearing the use of light colored carpets, began to demand wider color choices. In general, darker shades create a dramatic effect, while lighter shades create a sense of spaciousness.
There are three basic carpet constructions: cut pile, loop pile, and cut & loop pile. When making your selection, ask your salesperson what style will work best in the area you wish to have carpet installed.
Carpet texture establishes the character of a room or home, from the formal look of cut pile velvet saxony to the usual look of berber. The texture of carpet allows you to express your personality and lifestyle. A heavily textured carpet will also help hide foot prints.
Density is how tightly each fiber is stitched together. To avoid a crushed and matted appearance, choose a carpet with high density.
Twist is how many times the fiber is twisted together in a one-inch length. The twist relates directly to the carpets performance. A poorly twisted carpet may unravel giving a frayed and shaggy appearance.
Face weight is the amount of ounces of fiber per square yard of carpet.
Cushion relates to the padding installed under the carpet. A denser padding typically increases comfort and durability.
In order to keep your carpet in the best possible condition:
• Vacuum on a regular basis.
• Have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months.
